    Enigmatic. Captivating. Eminently masculine.

First came across this fragrance in the summer of '89. In Greece. Instantly blew me away. In a way that no other fragrance had ever before. Or has since. Here at last, I thought, was a cologne for which some thought process actually went into its creation.

Neat and fresh, it has a "simple" quality, as evidenced by the small number of essential oils in its formula, and by its almost-all-natural composition. Full props to the reviewer Derick for describing it as being similar to Abercrombie & Fitch's Fierce. I would also liken its masculine character—this must be the cedar and cardamom talking—to Jean Paul Gaultier's Le Male. But we should stop here. Any further comparisons would detract from the fact that this cologne is in a class of its own.

Also accurate was Derick's "it doesn't radiate like [other] colognes" remark. When I want to smell it straight from the bottle (and this occurs quite often), I find that I have to put my nose pretty close to the nozzle. While this might suggest that it has poor sillage, I would hasten to describe this fragrance as being subtle, yet potent. It doesn't scream its presence (if that's what strong sillage is) from the get-go, but rather when it makes its existence known, perhaps with the help of optimal conditions—the right breeze, say; or the right positioning, relative to the person who is wearing it—it does so with flair.

    My new favorite scent! amazing!

If I had to compare the scent to something else I'd have to say it is close to Abercrombie and Fitch Fierce cologne, with more natural ingredients and definitely a "manlier" scent. 2 sprays does really good for me, it doesn't radiate like some colognes I've used but I always receive compliments on how good I smell.
