Low lather, good scent, cleans well

I'm accustomed to shampoos (even those without sulfates) producing much more lather, so I was skeptical upon first use. I've got long, thick wavy hair on top, short on sides. First time I used this I almost returned because it seemed like it took far too much to clean. However, I've pared down and it seems to clean very well despite the lack of lather. I've also found it helps to shake the bottle well before use as it can separate. I still need to use a bit more than normal, however, when paired with the T&D conditioner things balance out because so very little of that is needed each use. The scent is a refreshing, mild scent. I'd recommend if you are okay with lower lather. It removes product and grime just fine for me. Still would prefer a higher lather, but maybe that's cause that's what I've been conditioned to accept as an effective cleaner. This seems to prove otherwise.

    Nice Scent, No Lather

I have medium-length, fine hair, and decided to try the Triumph & Disaster shampoo after a few years using the Jack Black True Volume Thickening Shampoo. Here are some initial observations after a week of use: I like the scent, which is herbaceous and slightly minty, but not overpowering. My biggest complaint is that I get little or no lather out of this shampoo; a quarter-sized amount gets lost in my hair, and I have to go back to get more shampoo to cover/ clean my entire head. That said, it rinses away easily, and I have noticed it leaves my hair feeling clean, soft, but not overly limp. It's not a miracle shampoo, but I don't think it claims to be, either.

Overall, I would say this is a decent shampoo, but given the poor lather and consequent need to use a larger amount to wash my hair (which means I'll go through this bottle faster than other shampoos I have used), I don't believe I will be purchasing this again.

    Excellent every day shampoo

As a guy with thinning hair, I've gotten pretty picky about choosing my go to, every day shampoo. Too harsh and my hair gets dry and limp. Too gentle and it's like I didn't wash it at all. With Triumph & Disaster, I think I've found my perfect balance. After using it daily for a month, I'm happy to report that it washes the product out of my hair without stripping all the oils out in the process. On those rare days when I'm trying to wash out a stickier, tackier product, I may have to lather and repeat, but in general one wash is fine. Plus it has a mild, minty-herbal scent (nothing over the top). Seems to pair well with the T&D conditioner, too. My one criticism is that it has a tendency to separate when left sitting for a day. Using the shampoo after separation greatly reduces the effectiveness of the product. So I recommend giving it a good shake before using. Other than that, it's great stuff.
