Introducing Kiso, the newest fragrance in our collection, and inspired by the Kiso Valley of Japan. Highly valued fresh hinoki wood, with notes of paper money, temple incense and river fog, make this minimalist fragrance cerebral and introspective. This is the scent of subtle luxury and it plays extremely well from day to night.
Each of The Motley’s Fragrance Collection has been inspired by travel with a particular destination in mind. Our fragrance journey has taken us all the way from the fresh, citrusy notes of the Mediterranean coast to the smoky, sensuous fragrances of the Middle East, as a traveler who gathers spices and scents along the way.
With our sixth fragrance we set out to create a scent specifically inspired by a region new to our collection - the hills of Japan. We knew we wanted something complex that would make the wearer meditate on its notes. The basis of the fragrance is hinoki wood, an expensive timber used for centuries in Japan to build temples, castles and theaters. The cool, watery note of fog gives the fresh wood scent a hint of intriguing moodiness. Black pepper and incense resin round it with an earthy element. The final note of money is unique but strangely familiar and leaves the wearer feeling like a million bucks. Literally.
Notes: Hinoki, patchouli, iris, money, black pepper, incense.
