GURU OF SOCIAL MEDIA (Compensation)

THE MOTLEY is looking for a well-fashioned GURU OF SOCIAL MEDIA.  The position is lightly compensated, yet extremely flexible – perfect for a student, post-graduate or someone interested in getting into PR/Marketing.

We're a boutique company that caters to young men "graduating" from the drug store brands who see an investment in personal care products that work.  Therefore, we're looking for someone who – not only has interest in men's grooming and a willingness to learn about the products – but an interest in and excitement about Internet marketing and new media.  

Our social media networks are driven by personality, experience and sophistication and your work must reflect that. We're looking for someone to post daily on our social media networks regarding current promotions (you'll work with our marketing directors for campaigns), new initiatives, reposting of videos and editorial content, and front-level customer service inquiries. 

To be considered, you should first and foremost see value in developing and partaking in a social networking community.  You must see yourself as a social leader, creative and imaginative, willing to share your great ideas and passion with the company.  

Location: Work from your home studio with weekly calls to our HQ team.


Key Job Responsibilities: 

  • - Maintaining an active presence on our dedicated pages on networking and bookmarking sites DAILY on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Tumblr.
  • - Oversee community management responsibilities as the marketing lead for Facebook, Twitter and any other social media outlets.
  • - Research and interact with major social networking sites as well as blogs, forums, and message boards. 
  • - Develop "out of the box" promotions and grassroots efforts with bloggers and magazines and to create viral buzz for the company and its brands.
  • - Secure features, interviews and product mentions with interior design, DIY & decorating oriented websites, magazines and TV/cable.

  • - Strong written communication skills.
  • - Must have an understanding of quality e-commerce.
  • - Must have an understanding or willingness to learn Google Analytics.

Freelance Grooming Writer (Compensation)

We are seeking a talented and knowlegable freelance grooming writer to help us maintain a resourceful database of articles that feature the grooming industry, icons of men's lifestyle, products that we carry and company related features.

You must be able to work with our in-house and freelance photographers.

Job duration: Freelance basis

Location: Work from your home studio with weekly calls and several trips to LA.

Responsibilities:

  • - To be have an excellent understanding of the The Motley customer, our brand, editorial strategy and tone.
  • - To consistently generate compelling and unique grooming ideas and write outstanding copy for the online "Magazine" section.
  • - To work with the Associate Editor on store pages when necessary
  • - To continually develop relationships and work closely with the buyers to help create the best editorial for the section.
  • - To interview grooming and men's lifestyle experts
  • - To contribute multi channel ideas for our in-house productions that integrate magazine editorial with site, TV and social channels
